M. Pauline Scott

Dies in Tacoma

M. Pauline Scott of Tacoma, Wash.,  a former Sitka resident, passed away June 18, 2016. She was 75.

She was born June 8, 1941, in Pahuska, Okla., the daughter of Paul and Nancy Harris.

She graduated from Sitka High School in 1959. She worked at the Alaska Native Clinic, and moved to Ketchikan, where she retired after 30 plus years at the clinic.

 Pauline moved to Washington after her husband Paul Scott’s death to be closer to her children and their families.

She had attended Life Center Church, where she volunteered in the office and greeted on Sundays. She had recently begun attending Grace Place Church in Tacoma, and had actively volunteered.

Pauline loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed doing for others, expecting nothing in return. She liked making her own greeting cards on her computer. She loved going to church as well as going to the ocean. Her favorite color was purple.

Pauline was preceded in death by her father, Paul Boyer; mother, Nancy Harris, and stepfather, Bradley Harris;  her grandparents; and her husbands, Raymond Thiemeyer Sr. and Paul Scott.

She is survived by her brother, Gordon (Jeannie) Harris of Anchorage, who recently moved to Arizona; daughter, Raelene Thiemeyer (Chris) Randall of Spanaway, Wash.; son, Raymond (Esther) Thiemeyer Jr. of Tigard, Ore.; and daughter, Nancy Scott (Gabe) Gonzalez of Maple Valley, Wash.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, in-laws, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. June 26 at Grace Place Tacoma, 6202 South Tyler Street, Tacoma WA 98409. Visit www.graceplacetacoma.org.
